Σύντομο Βιογραφικό Η Μαρία Περράκη είναι λέκτορας στο Εργαστήριο Ορυκτολογίας-Πετρολογίας-Κοιτασματολογίας του Τομέα Γεωλογικών Επιστημών, με γνωστικό αντικείμενο «Ορυκτολογία», θέση στην οποία εκλέχτηκε 24-6-2009 και διορίστηκε 17-1-2011.Αποφοίτησε το 1998 από το Τμήμα Γεωλογίας του ΕΚΠΑ (βαθμός πτυχίου 7,76). Το χρονικό διάστημα 1998-1999 παρακολούθησε κύκλο προδιδακτορικών μαθημάτων στον Τομέα Γεωλογικών Επιστημών του Ε.Μ.Π., το 1999-2003 εκπόνησε, με υποτροφία του ΙΚΥ, διδακτορική διατριβή με θέμα ?Πετρολογική μελέτη των μεταμορφωμένων σχηματισμών της Α. Θεσσαλίας? και το 2003 πήρε το διδακτορικό δίπλωμα από την ίδια Σχολή.

Από τον Ιούλιο 2003 έως το Σεπτέμβριο 2004 ήταν μεταδιδακτορική ερευνήτρια στο Τμήμα Ορυκτολογίας-Πετρολογίας του Πανεπιστημίου του Graz Αυστρίας σε ερευνητικό πρόγραμμα με θέμα ?Μεταμόρφωση υπέρ-υψηλών πιέσεων στη Ροδόπη?. Από τον Ιανουάριο 2004 έως το Δεκέμβριο 2004 ασχολήθηκε με μεταδιδακτορική έρευνα, χρηματοδοτούμενη από το ΙΚΥ, στον Τομέα Γεωλογικών Επιστημών της Σχολής Μηχ. Μετ. ?Μετ. του Ε.Μ.Π.

Από το 2004 έως το 2011 (Ιανουάριος) κατείχε θέση μέλους Ειδικού και Εργαστηριακού Διδακτικού Προσωπικού (Ε.Ε.ΔΙ.Π.) στον Τομέα Γεωλογικών Επιστημών της Σχολής Μηχ. Μετ.-Μετ. με γνωστικό αντικείμενο ?Οπτική Μικροσκοπία, Ηλεκτρονική Μικροσκοπία και Μικροανάλυση?.  Τον Απρίλιο 2010, εκπόνησε έρευνα, στο Μουσείο Φυσικής Ιστορίας του Παρισιού, με εκπαιδευτική άδεια.

Διδάσκει (συνδιδασκαλία) τα μαθήματα της Σχολής Μηχ. Μετ.-Μετ.: Ορυκτολογία (1ο εξάμηνο), Πετρολογία (2ο εξάμηνο), Κοιτασματολογία (4ο εξάμηνο), Εφαρμοσμένη Ορυκτολογία (9ο εξάμηνο) και συμμετέχει στην εκπαίδευση μεταπτυχιακών φοιτητών της Σχολής Μηχανικών Μεταλλείων-Μεταλλουργών του Ε.Μ.Π. στη λειτουργία του ηλεκτρονικού μικροσκόπιο σάρωσης και στην ερμηνεία των δεδομένων.

Έχει δημοσιεύσει 20 επιστημονικές εργασίες σε διεθνή επιστημονικά περιοδικά, 8 πλήρεις εργασίες σε πρακτικά διεθνών συνεδρίων, 3 εκτεταμένες περιλήψεις σε  πρακτικά διεθνών συνεδρίων και 29 περιλήψεις. Το δημοσιευμένο έργο της τυγχάνει >90 αναφορές τρίτων. Είναι κριτής εργασιών σε διεθνή επιστημονικά περιοδικά και βιβλία.

Τα κυριότερα ερευνητικά αντικείμενά της είναι Ορυκτολογία, Πετρολογία μεταμορφωμένων πετρωμάτων (υψηλών και υπέρ-υψηλών πιέσεων), Πετρολογία μαγματικών πετρωμάτων, Ηλεκτρονική Μικροσκοπία και Μικροανάλυση, Φασματοσκοπικές μέθοδοι Raman και FTIR με εφαρμογές σε θέματα Ορυκτολογίας και Αρχαιομετρίας.
